I have always been drawn to the soul-stirring beauty of the natural world. My art is an attempt to celebrate and share that beauty. From the mountains of New Zealand to the beaches and outback of Australia, my work is underpinned by my connection to place.
When painting a landscape, I am drawn to the mesmerising allure of light and aim to capture the interplay of light dancing with shadow. My favourite landscapes are those that are broody and rugged, but with an essence of tranquillity. Those that demand an honest but muted palette. I hope that audiences can get lost in these works, that the colours stir primitive, natural emotions, and that we are each reminded of the awe-inspiring wonder that surrounds us.
